Designed for the Artfinity Festival at MIT, the project reconstructs some of the institute’s rooms—labs, offices, conference halls, and classrooms—where groundbreaking inventions have taken place. Some of these rooms belonged to buildings that no longer exist, some were part of the old Boston campus, and others are still around us.
12 Rooms celebrates the many inventions that have emerged from our campus throughout MIT’s history and become part of our everyday lives.

In collaboration with:  Balsa Crosetto Piazzi
With the support of: MIT Office of the Arts and   Spaulding Bricks CO.
And the help of: Catherine Yu, David Lafond, Farnaz Seyed, Geoffrey Hazard, Jonathan Lira, Sabrina Tian, Yuyang Li (Sunnie)
Photographs by: Evan Ortiz, Jabari Canada, Balsa Crosetto Piazzi
